What Will Your Good Deed Be?
The Foundling Museum is a charitable organisation that informs visitors about the good deeds done by the men and women who ran the Foundling Hospital during the eighteenth century. It was the first children's charity set up in England, and was used as an orphanage for abandoned children. The Foundling Museum explores its history through collections, musical events, projects, and exhibitions.
The latest exhibition, Exchange: 1000 Good Deeds, is particularly special, as it encourages visitors to continue the good deeds that the hospital began.
The ceramic artist, Clare Twomey, has made one thousand cups for the exhibit, each of which has been inscribed with a good deed. Every day until the 15th September, ten visitors will be randomly selected to choose a cup and perform the good deed that's written on it. In exchange for your efforts, you will then be able to take the cup home with you.
