Brazilan Baroque, A Musical Eldorado
Brazilian music is rich in rhythm and themes and it is definitely not just made of samba. This 500 years old country has other cultural treasures, that have now been discovered and explored by Birmingham's players and singers from Ex-Cathedra.

Treasures such as Baroque music, are introduced for the first time to Birmingham in the performance Brazilian Baroque, A Musical Eldorado to be presented at the Town Hall, 1 March, at 7.30 pm.

The renowned musicians of Ex Cathedra already have an international reputation for their vast repertoire that covers f12th to 20th centuries of Latin American Baroque period.

Jeffrey Skidmore

The concert is conducted by the Artistic Director, Jeffrey Skidmore, who has been to Brazil twice and in early this year, visited the country once again looking for more hidden gems of Baroque art itself in cities such as Curitiba, São Paulo, Salvador and Ouro Preto.

Baroque art has importance to the architecture, literature and music of Brazil.

It will be the first time Ex Cathedra will performance this traditional Brazilian music and as a result, this magnificent concert will be recorded as a CD.
