I love this shop. It's been around for the past 10 years. I fell in love when I saw they sold hand-crafted jewellery and bags made of recycled cloth as opposed to leather, and plastic. Evolution sell bespoke ornaments and artisan hand-made pieces that turn your house into a home.
Located on the link between the (currently changing), Pallasades and Bullring, Evolution has sold wares from independent crafts men and women, small and large goods that are found in across the globe, locally and and ethically-sourced pretty, punk and polished items for the past ten years.
Specialising in bespoke goods for the home, they kick the mass-market goods to the curb, and make places like Habitat, Pottery Barn and IKEA look a bit silly.
Evolution is a shoppers Nirvana. It could be a store-come-shrine for home accessories, and buying more than what you need could fuel a hoarding (of lush items) addiction. If I had the money and space I'd probably buy 80% of what's in store because it's all so cute and cool, so approach with caution.
If you like a scented home, full of exotic aromas they sell incense sticks, burning oils and candles in various sizes. If cute and kitsch is your kind of thing wonderful; signs that wouldn't look out of place in a cottage, and hand-carved vintage accessories that are more organic than Cath Kidston can be found dotted around the store. But if zany and outlandish pieces take your fancy then Evolution really is the place for you.
