It is something of a cliche to say that love gives you wings (we all know that Red Bull is the only thing that does that), but while you may not be sprouting feathers on Valentine's Day, it is certainly a time when love is quite literally in the air.

You don't have to travel far with the Emirates Airline - heck, you don't even need to book a plane - to have a romantic getaway. All it takes is £3.30 (£4.40 without an Oyster card) and you and your partner could be soaring ninety metres above London in one of their cable cars across the River Thames. Britain's first urban cable car provides beautiful views, and on the 14th & 15th February, it will be an extra special experience.

From 5pm on Friday, and for all of Saturday live music will play at both Emirates Greenwich Peninsula and Emirates Royal Docks terminal. The staff will play Cupid, not with arrows, but luxury chocolates (a far more pleasant aphrodisiac). Take your camera or Smartphone, and they will also happily take a picture of you and your partner under their red balloon arch.

For those who don't want the experience to end, you can book an experience package , which includes a non-stop return journey, an in-flight guide map, and entrance in to the Emirates Aviation Experience for £7.80. Want a more intimate setting? For £88 you can book your own private cabin.
