As an inquisitive traveller, this quirky cafe had me captivated at the first glance. The staff there is very friendly and even recommended me the speciality of the cafe- hot chocolate.

I absolutely went ahead with their explicit suggestion and there was not even an inkling of regret later. I coupled my hot chocolate with a tiramisu and my taste buds savoured the taste for a long time! It absolutely gave me the brief break I needed from monotony. A look around the cafe, and you will literally feel your heart smiling.

Drawings of elephants in eclectic, distinct and funny shapes adorn the walls of the cafe. Be prepared to see a crooked elephant, a red coloured elephant, and an elephant with an intricate detailing on its nose. The walls of the cafe are sure to lift your mood up. The kid inside me couldn't resist the urge to draw a cute elephant, colour it and paste it on the wall. I felt so satisfied. Yes, the hot chocolate had worked its magic.

To top it all, I had taken the most comfortable seat in the cafe, right opposite to the window, where I could witness the hustle bustle of Edinburgh firsthand. It was drizzling at that time, so the sight was utterly beautiful. How I passed one hour in that cafe still happily puzzles me. Since I am on a mission to find the best coffee in Edinburgh, I grabbed a cup of filter coffee, and folks, the search still goes on! But this didn't stop me from rating Elephants and Bagels as a prime spot for nice rendezvous over a huge cup of hot chocolate and a charming aura overall.
