Benjamin Bridges, 'Heals'
The GX Gallery's two newest artists, Eleanor Watson and Benjamin Bridges, are sharing a joint
exhibition of their work between 11th-28th February.
Eleanor Watson is a young, up and coming painter who has studied at the Wimbledon and Chelsea Colleges of Arts. She is currently focussing on the theme of painting a rooms which are not designed to be lived in. She uses images from magazines and theatre sets as her inspiration and creates spaces that leave a sense of absence.
Benjamin Bridges also studied at the Wimbledon College of arts, and his landscape paintings are inspired by science fiction, folklore, and real life exploration, such as space missions. In his style, bridges works a lot with polygonal shapes. His aim is to stimulate his audience by exposing them to the mystery of the unknown. Bridges paintings make you ask questions such as "What am I looking at? What is it made from? Where is that? What is it for?"
