El Paso, with a terrific location on one of the busiest blocks of Old Street, serves affordable and tasty Tex Mex food and a wide variety of drinks.



The bar and restaurant occupies a large space that spans over two floors, in addition to a basement that can be rented out to host events. The atmosphere of the restaurant is bright and upbeat with lots of catchy well-known music, fun and colourful design on the walls, and sombrero and moustache shaped cut-outs on the balcony over the bar.



The menu offers an extensive breakfast and lunch menu until 3PM, which includes a diverse selection of items such as a breakfast burrito, bacon baguette, and bean salad. After 3PM the menu features options like fajitas, steak, ribs, burgers, tacos, and much more. Food items come in sizable portions and rarely go over £10.

There is an impressive amount of vegetarian options for a Tex Mex menu, including a spicy black bean burger, mushroom fajitas, vegetable chimichanga, and vegetable burrito. As a vegetarian myself, I certainly had a hard time choosing my meal-- a dilemma I don't frequently run into unless I've specifically sought out a vegetarian restaurant.

For drinks, El Paso's website proudly claims to have "one of the largest cocktail and shooter lists in Shoreditch". They also have a large selection of wines, beers, ales, and ciders. There are areas to sit and hang out around the bar for those who are looking to enjoy a drink without a meal.



El Paso's fun atmosphere and satisfying menu makes for a great visit in a lively area. If you're looking for deliciously high quality Tex Mex food at a low price and a ton of drink options, you'll definitely want to find a time to give El Paso a try.
