The busiest food bar in Selfridges. Ekachai is fast food - it has to be, there is always a queue, but you'll be seated and served in 5 minutes. Delicious Oriental food that is cooked right in front of you. Fresh flavours that smack you in the face, much like the service, they don't have time to be polite, I guess.

However the food more than makes up for the civil but no warmth reception you'll get. My favourite is the mixed seafood udon; go hungry, its hard to finish as the portion is so generous

For a lighter meal, try the Singapore noodles, salty, sweet and you could eat it twice over. Their dim sum is a perfect starter, accompaniment to your meal, or if you just want something small. The deep fried prawn wontons and the duck spring rolls with a plum, sweet chilli or soy sauce are mouth-watering. Despite this, none of their dishes will leave you with a bloated heavy belly, nonetheless, you will leave full. South East Asian food is usually quite healthy, and most of Ekachai's dishes are made up of 30% vegetables, so don't worry about the calories and enjoy the taste of fresh Oriental cooking. I go at least twice a month, you should too.
