Edinburgh Coffee Festival returns this October (Saturday 14th) for the third year to take place at Edinburgh Corn Exchange. As a celebration of Edinburgh's coffee scene, you can expect a variety of around 40 exhibitors delivering workshops, demonstrations, talks and tasters.

These brewers, roasters, coffee making equipment specialists, baristas, and coffee shop owners will be flocking to the Corn Exchange to impart their knowledge and passion of coffee and give event goers a real sense of the coffee industry on a national scale as well as closer to home, in Scotland. There will also be tea merchants and chocolate specialists at the Festival, as well as a choice of other independent vendors, so it's not all just for coffee lovers!

The Programme offers a range of talks exploring topics such as 'Sustainable Coffee Farming in Columbia,' Closing the loop: creating compost from coffee cups,' and 'Key Learnings from setting up a Cluster of Coffee Shops.' There are plenty of workshops and demonstrations including 'How to do Latte Art!' 'Tea Brewing Masterclass,' and 'Filter Coffee- styles, ratios and the importance of water.' Head to The Cupping Room to find a variety of companies including Edinburgh Micro Roasters Collective, Dear Green, and Schluter.

This year's Festival aims to be a Zero Waste Event, emphasising sustainability in the coffee industry. Coffee cups are infamously difficult to recycle being made from a mix of materials. As an alternative, this year's Coffee Festival will be using Vegware cups which are made from plants, not plastic, and are designed to be composted with food. Visitors are also offered a 40% discount on smart cups.

Last year's Festival took place at the Summerhall and was a fun and informative day out. If you're a lover of coffee, tea, chocolate and supporting independent businesses of Edinburgh and Scotland, this is an event for you.

Ticket prices start at £8.50 for students, with standard admission at £10. For tickets and more information head to the website.
