It's only November, but countless cities throughout the world have been getting into the Christmas spirit. And their enthusiasm has had a positive impact on people throughout the planet, with several thousand flocking to Edinburgh to witness just how the Scottish celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
The capital, as always, plays host to an amazing set up of stalls, rides and experiences that all contribute to the wonder that is the Edinburgh Christmas Markets.
Despite a cold welcome off the plane, visitors can expect a warm welcome the minute they enter the magical wonderland just off Princes Street.
Right in the heart of the city, the markets offer that little something for everyone, whether it be one of a number of exciting rides and attractions for the children, or the long list of bespoke gifts for that special someone.
The capital has put on a show this winter as usual
A whizzing visit throughout the sights and sounds of the East Princes Street Gardens is enough to tire anyone out, and that is where the smells come in handy. From delicious hot food to sumptuous snacks, you'd be forgiven for spending your entire night eating straight from the stalls.
And all that can be washed down with a hot toddy, mulled wine, beer or hot chocolate among countless other appetising drinks.
The Forth 1 Big Wheel, Helter Skelter, Chair-o-Planes and the Double Carousel are perfect for the thrill-seekers out there, or perhaps you're more suited to the Christmassy experiences of Santa's Grotto and the Reindeer Ride.
The markets are open all the way up until the 4th of January, but get there soon to soak up the atmosphere in the build-up to the big day. There is no time to waste!
