I'm trying to think of a punchline, but this is no joke. Back in 2003, Englishman, Stephen Stapleton met Ahmed Mater and Abdulnasser Gharem in Saudi Arabia. Together he and the two artists started a projected called
The Edge of Arabia, designed to showcase over sixty Saudi and Arab artists in an educational programme. The result? A new gallery in London known as the EOA Testbed on Elcho Street.
A prestigious location next to the Royal College of Art, the Edge of Arabia has two galleries with both permanent and temporary exhibits. It officially open on the 7th of March, and to celebrate, they are currently showing
It's A Project until the 24th May.
In the exhibit you will be able to see a culmination of work created by the collaboration of Middle Eastern and UK artists, which will include paintings, films, installations, and interactive displays. The main feature showcases an exciting expedition trekked by seven youths across the Saudi Arabian mountains.
