Join comedian Ed Bryne as he takes his latest stand-up show on tour through the UK. Ed Byrne: Spoiler Alert will be at the Southampton O2 Guildhall on Friday 9th of February at 7pm.
No, Ed Byrne's show doesn't involve him recapping Game of Throne's episodes for those who are waiting to read the books. And no, Byrne is going to reveal that Dumbledore does in fact, die, that was 10 years ago and isn't even a spoiler anymore. Spoiler Alert is less about spoiling television shows and movies, and more about modern generations and how we should probably consider ourselves a little bit spoiled. Ed Byrne takes a look at the way he's raising his children, and his stories about their escapades are contrasted with stories of his own childhood.
But Byrne's show isn't just an excuse to take another whack at Generation Y or the Millennials. While he builds plenty of comedy around stories of his children, the simple fact is that they're not the only ones who are spoiled. In fact, the whole point of Spoiler Alert is that many of us, Ed included, should consider ourselves spoiled and count ourselves lucky for the many opportunities we have.
Ed Byrne got started in comedy while at university when he was often required to MC events. Since then he's built a name for himself, touring around the world with his stand up shows, presenting BBC radio comedy shows, and appearing on television shows like Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You. His current show, Spoiler Alert, received positive reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and will be continuing to tour around the UK in 2018. You can find the full list of tour dates on Byrne's website.
Tickets are £29 and can be purchased from the O2 Guildhall website or by calling the box office on 023 8063 2601. The show is restricted to over 12s only. Disabled access for shows at the O2 Guildhall are available, but must be purchased by calling the box office rather than purchasing online.
