Funfairs have been traditional bank holiday events for Londoners for many years, and this Easter is no exception, although you may have to put on your warm clothes for the coldest March in half a century.

Two fairs that are convenient for south Londoners are at Crystal Palace and Clapham Common. Both are run by Irvine Leisure and will last for two weeks until 14 April, so there is plenty of time for your children to get their fill of fun before they return to school for the summer term.

The Crystal Palace fair will be situated on the Top Terrace, close the bus terminus and near the site of the historic Crystal Palace. Discounted tokens will be available for the rides too.

Clapham Common's Easter Fair will be operated by pre-paid wrist bands, offering free entry and use of all the rides and slides, otherwise entry costs £2.50. Entrance to this event is from The Avenue on Clapham Common.

Whichever one you choose, have fun, but make sure you don't eat too many Easter eggs before going on the white knuckle rides...
