Throughout the wettest winter on record in England, it's been hard to find somewhere not too muddy for a walk. is a great spot for all the family and, best of all, no mud in sight!

The location for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic rowing and kayaking events, is privately owned by Eton College but open to the public to walk around.

Located near Windsor, it's an easy day trip from London. You could combine a walk round with a visit to Windsor Castle for a great day out.

It's a 5km circuit around the lake, on a beautiful smooth paved path. As there are no cars, it's ideal for young children learning to ride bikes, although it does get busy at the weekends. The path is completely flat so it's also suitable for wheelchairs and rollerblades. I've even seen people training on wheeled skis.

Kids will enjoy spotting swans in the lake and it's fascinating to watch the rowing teams training.

You can park at either end of the lake and there are plenty of parking spots. It costs £2.50 for all day parking.

also has a venue available to hire for celebrations with catering services available.
