Do a Doggy Dash

Are you dotty about dogs? Then you probably feel as angry as I do with the hundreds of people who abandon their faithful companions each year. Worse than that, many are abused, and left fearing humans for the rest of their life.
Dogs Trust do all they can to help these animals, by giving them medical care, training, food, and a warm place to sleep at night. They never put a healthy dog down, and many pooches go on to find a new loving home.
Unfortunately, some are just too nervous to be re-homed, so they get all the love and care they can from Dogs Trust staff and volunteers. This would not, however be possible without support from people like us.
I have sponsored dogs from Dogs Trust for many years; at the moment, I sponsor two lovely dogs called Max and Rosie. It is great to get letters from them and hear about their progress. I also receive their Wag! magazine (not that kind of WAG, although both like football). I get to read about all the successful re-homed dogs, and also about the projects that are possible from donations. For example, they have recently opened up a new centre, and refurbished some old ones.
Just like I sponsor a dog, you can get someone to sponsor you. Dogs Trust are on board for many fundraising marathons this year. If you are interested in taking part in one, then contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 7837 0006. You can also look on the official marathon websites for more information.
