Just in time for half term, Mickey and Minnie Mouse made a long-awaited return with a myriad of classic characters we all know and love for the
Disney On Ice 'Find your Hero' tour.
Breaking the ice with the crowd at
Resorts World Arena Birmingham were an array of heroes, who all followed their own path.
There's
The Little Mermaid, who despite being told by Sebastian to get her head out of the clouds and back in the water where it belonged, Ariel followed her dream.
We see her handling the challenges set by Ursula to achieve her goal to explore the human world as she gets to pirouette around the ice with her prince after all.
Maui may be 'hero of men", however, the real hero of Motunui is Moana, as she channels her strengths with a little help from Gramma Tala.
You have to love a little 'Mauioke' as everyone joined in with the classic song favourite
You're Welcome.
It was great to hear everyone join in with
"What can I say except, you're welcome, For the tides, the sun, the sky.. "
Next up was the curious, lantern painting Rapunzel from
Tangled who escaped the clutches of Mother Gothel with Flynn Rider aka Eugene.
If you thought these world-class skaters couldn't beat the moves such as the legendary loop, the lutz, salchow or axel then you haven't seen two ice skaters move simultaneously as grumpy looking Maximus the horse. What a first act!
The second Act showcases
Beauty and the Beast, as twirling candlesticks and teapots help Belle to discover the true heart buried deep within the Beast. It had even the youngest of guests enthralled to see if Belle would escape the clutches of villain Gaston?
For the finale of the show, it was of course
Frozen. However, I was a little disappointed that this tale as old as time hadn't been upgraded to the sequel.
Despite that, it was a definite spectacle, with pyrotechnics exploding and a lot of dry ice in the house.
Action-packed with a hero around every villain, Disney on Ice offers something for all the family.
If you get your skates on, you can catch the last few shows in
Birmingham on Sunday October 31 before the tour heads to Manchester, Exeter, Aberdeen, Belfast, Newcastle, Sheffield and London.
