A century of sensational Disney characters are being brought to life through ice-skating as
Disney On Ice returns to Birmingham for a very special celebration.
Featuring in this new centenary show are favourites from Mickey Mouse to Buzz Lightyear, Princess Elsa and Snow White.
The
Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic show will be at Arena Birmingham in the city centre from October 16 to 20 as part of
a UK tour .
Audiences of all ages are set to be spellbound by the magical journey through classic and modern Disney tales as they are retold on the ice in precise detail with larger than life costumes.
An opening number will honour Walt Disney's most prestigious and early creation of Mickey Mouse, along with his pals including his cute girlfriend Minnie Mouse.
Mickey will host the event as he introduces more than 50 unforgettable Disney characters for sing-along scenes and breathtaking ice dance choreography performed by a talented cast.
Among the tales being retold will be
The Lion King, Pixar's
Toy Story,
Beauty and The Beast and
Frozen.
Frozen has become a firm favourite with
Disney on Ice regulars who revel in entering the kingdom of Arendelle to see snowman Olaf and Kristoff help sisters Anna and Elsa.
Producer Nicole Feld said: "
This particular production is by far the largest Disney On Ice show we currently have touring, bringing together everyone's favourite Disney characters from Snow White, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse to Elsa and Anna."Our vision is for audiences everywhere to dance and sing along to their favourite Disney songs, so we've included 30 tunes that they know and love."
Songs in the big scale production show include
Hakuna Matata, from The Lion King,
You've Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story and the hugely popular Frozen anthem
Let It Go.
There will also be
Turtle Rock with Nemo, Dory, Squirt and his turtle friends from Finding Nemo plus a montage of musical hits featuring prince and princesses from a host of top films including the dreamy
A Whole New World from Aladdin.
Producer Kenneth Feld added: "
This is a show, more than any other, which is truly for everybody. When I sit with the audience, I see those that are grandparents, like I am, enjoying a lot of the classic Disney stories, while young kids and parents really respond to modern day favourites like Frozen."
Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic will be skating into Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Exeter, Aberdeen, Sheffield, Nottingham, and London as part of its UK tour. For the complete list of tour dates, visit the
