Cheap and cheerful cocktails to keep the girls entertained in Islington



Desperados, a Mexican Restaurant near Angel Tube Station, offers a fun fiesta of margaritas and Hispanic meals. Every Tuesday night, their cocktails are sold at less than £3 a piece alongside a main meal, offering an affordable solution to a weekday night out in London.

The restaurant is cheekily decorated, with sombreros, colourful walls and a huge Mexican bar. Their cocktails are served in large glasses, with the classic bendy straw, and they have a wide variety of margaritas and other alcoholic cocktails. The Peach margaritas certainly hit the spot for me and it was fun to try their frozen cocktail selection.

Serving a selection of Mexican meals, from burritos to fajitas, vegetarian bites and the burger selection for the fussier eater, Desperados is a fun night out for all. Though the food was not the best Mexican I've ever tasted, it hits the spot and offers plenty of options at reasonable prices.
