For the last few months fashion fiends have had to go cold turkey but, with Christmas on the way, that turkey is now in the oven so it will be hot, succulent and juicy. In other words Designer Sales UK is back. After an autumn hiatus,
DSUK is returning to Chelsea Old Town Hall to spread the Christmas cheer and help spread the Christmas budget.
If this is your first encounter with DSUK, let me give your the inside story. Elaine Foster-Gandey founded Designer Sales UK in 1989 and has over twenty years experience in the fashion industry. She uses that knowledge and all the tricks of the trade to give customers the best deals possible. The pop-up shop is full of designer labels at rock bottom prices - sometimes a whopping 90% off the RRP. Popular women's brands include Delage Paris, Jimmy Choo, Valentino, Vivienne Westwood, Clements Ribeiro, Hemyca, Kreme, and Ocansey Bianchi. There are great menswear labels too, such as Jenny Schwarz, Farrel, and Chess London.
DSUK's
Christmas Sample Sale is on the 12th December from 12pm. Entry is just £2 (£1 concessions) which you can easily recoup when you pick up one of the fantastic deals inside. If you want to snap up the bargains before anyone else, you can buy a VIP ticket for £25. This gives you access from 11am, a glass of bubbles on arrival, a goody bag worth £60, and a £10 voucher when you spend over £100. Every shopper will be pampered by friendly staff and benefit from a personal stylist who know what goes well with what, and what looks good on you. If you are aiming for a specific style, then they'll know just what to look for. There are changing rooms on site so there's no need to worry about taking a chance.
As it is Christmas it is of course the perfect opportunity to buy some really special gifts that might otherwise not be affordable. Examples of the great offers available include silk lingerie from Anne Wiggin at 80% off retail prices, cashmere and wool knits from £40, Chess London men's jackets from £65, t-shirts and tops from £20, and knitwear from £45. There is also a large range jewellery starting from £30, and bargains on handbags and shoes.
You could spend a long time browsing the racks, but if you do happen to finish early, make sure you stick around, because DSUK will be holding a festive fashion quiz. The winner will be announced at 4pm and they will receive a prize set of Vivienne Westwood cuff links and free VIP tickets to the first sale of 2016 in January.
While it is fun to treat ourselves and buy presents for friends and family, we must not forget that Christmas is also about being charitable and giving to those less fortunate. DSUK has been supporting Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Kenya with the help of a dedicated pastor called Josphat. One aspect of their work include the purchase of a sewing machine for a woman called Gladys Wangui so that she can earn a living running her own sewing business. Gladys also makes school uniforms so that children in the area can go to school and get an education. 5% of all sales will go towards funding this project for Gladys and other women like her.
