Electronic rock band Depeche Mode are returning to the UK as part of a new European tour in 2024 - more than 40 years after first hitting the charts as part of the new wave movement. The band, which formed in Basildon, Essex, in 1980, went on to sell more than 100 million records worldwide on the back of 17 UK Top 10 albums and no less than 54 songs in the UK singles chart, including impressive hits such as Enjoy The Silence and People Are People.

The band, which now consists of just lead singer Dave Gahan and guitarist and keyboard player Martin Gore following the death of co-founder Andy Fletcher last year, have just announced dates for a new European leg of their longstanding Memento Mori Tour. The new dates, which start this winter, include an appearance at Birmingham's Utilita Arena on 24 January 2024. The Memento Mori Tour comes to the UK having already enjoyed sold-out shows across North America and elsewhere,



Memento Mori is the 15th studio album by Depeche Mode, and the first from the band recorded as a duo with Gahan and Gore. Following their stadium and arena shows across the US, Mexico, Canada and elsewhere in Europe this year, Depeche Mode have now announced 29 new European dates which will extend the tour into 2024. These new tour dates begin at London’s O2 Arena on 22 January and finish in Cologne, Germany, in April. In total, the 110-date Memento Mori Tour is on track to be one of Depeche Mode’s largest to date.

Having played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. They remain an indelible inspiration to their many fans, as well as critics and fellow artists. With the launch of their 15th studio album earlier this year, Depeche Mode continues to forge ahead, with the Memento Mori release and tour representing the opening of the newest chapter of their ongoing legacy.



On the Memento Mori Tour, Depeche Mode have once again partnered with luxury Swiss watchmaker Hublot to support the band’s charity efforts. Around the tour, Hublot and Depeche Mode will be supporting Conservation Collective, a global network of foundations promoting grassroots environmental initiatives, with a special focus on projects aiming to tackle plastic pollution, waste management, and environmental clean-ups. In addition, Depeche Mode will be working with Live Nation’s Green Nation team to reduce the use of single-use plastics, improve recycling, and reduce food and other waste on tour and at the venues.
