John Lewis on Oxford Street is one of the most famous shops on arguably the most famous high street in Britain. Having been around since 1895, it is a one-stop shop that genuinely does have something for everyone across its 7 floors of retail space.

It is hard to mention what John Lewis has to offer, in fact it is probably easier to mention what it doesn't sell - such is the product range. Some highlights - the foodhall , a 17,000 square foot area packed with dressed lobster, salads and even a dedicated cheese room, with over 100 cheeses. Then there's the free fashion advice service , available by appointment, which will help those a little lost by all the brands on offer. There's also the holiday shop , available for men, women and children, which offers plenty of choices for those soon to go on holiday, now the summer months are upon us.

So avoid the arms and elbows of the street outside, and join those shopping in the more relaxed environment of one of the original Oxford Street department stores.
