Discover the delights of Deloitte Ignite as the Royal Opera House opens its doors for a festival of free activities in September.

A varied weekend programme offers tasters of opera and ballet, a behind-the-scenes look at costume-making and set design, and street performers on the Covent Garden piazza: Look out for sopranos on stilts, elaborate hairstyles and a flaming piano!

Visit The Workshop to try your hand at backstage crafts, or help to create a huge scenic backdrop. Sing along to musical classics Oliver! and West Side Story, try out the Operaoke booth, or take a backstage tour lead by Royal Opera House staff.

Festival food is served with a Spanish twist, inspired by the Royal Opera's production of Carmen. Most events are free, with something to appeal to all ages.

A limited amount of free festival day passes are now available from the Royal Opera House booking office for Saturday 5 September, Sunday 6 September and Sunday 27 September.
