If you're a Liverpool local then it's likely you'll have heard of Delifonsecca – renowned for its award-winning deli spreads and fancy fare food hall.
However, having experienced a delayed launch due to the pandemic, the impressive adjoining restaurant is little more than 2 years old.
The restaurant is deceivingly spacious inside, flooded with loads of natural light while the bronzed hanging lighting and inviting foliage make for a soft and warm ambience. Staff couldn't be friendlier and you can expect food with a flourish if you're lucky enough to be served by restaurant manager Tom.
So where do I start with Delifon? Their fairly extensive seasonal menu is packed with enough variety to please everyone in your party. There are impressive breakfast choices, a ton of upper-end lunch options, great evening dishes and even a kids menu.
Whether you're in the mood for a deli platter, a classic English favourite like fish and chips, or an impressive special like their lip-smacking Louisiana creole gumbo, chances are, you're not going to be disappointed.
Oh, and they also do an incredible Sunday roast if you're inclined! Served up with seasonal veg, mouthwatering gravy, and the most enormous homemade Yorkshire puddings you've ever seen. (Just check out the photos for proof!)
If meat's your thing then you're in for a treat, as everything is locally sourced from their on-site award-winning butchers Edge & Sons. With that said, there are more than enough veggie and vegan options to keep any plant-based visitor happy (the crispy katsu cauliflower being the absolute star of the show in my humble opinion!)
A short stroll away from the scenic Liverpool docks and marina, Delifonsecca is just out of the town centre enough to make it feel like you're tucked away somewhere special. If you're a fan of gourmet grub with a welcoming atmosphere, then this place is definitely one for you.
