Event:
A little fun in the dark, anyone?

Want to step into a different world this weekend? Bourne and Hollingsworth and Torture Garden are hosting another Dark Circus Party.

Several Dark parties have been held already this year, featuring burlesque, cabaret, and everything from the darker side of the circus. This event features freakshow Syban, fire shows from Katrina Lilwall and pole burlesque from Chiqui Love.

Why Dark? Well, apart from the obvious indication that this is circus for adults, these folks could be referring to the dark side of social ritual invented by Sir Terry Pratchett. If he can invent a Dark Morris dance to satisfy the gods' craving for winter sacrifice, surely the circus can offer up a Dark Circus to the gods of theatre.

In any case, the event promises to be a darkly thrilling cross between nightclub, bondage bar and freakshow. Dress is 'disgracefully dazzling', so get your glad (and not so glad) rags on.

The party itself will recall the decadence of the Regency period's pleasure gardens with intimate curtained booths, which allow revellers to watch from private patches of darkness.

Prepare to be transported to a dark, dreamy and slightly depraved world of heady illusion and unbridled spectacle,' the promoters promise. Will they deliver?
