Dance Fest is, as the name might suggest, all about dancing. The day long event is hosted by Ceroc and it combines classes and workshops with fun freestyle dancing. Even if you like to dance it doesn't necessarily mean you're up for an all-day dancing bender, so why else should you head along to Dance Fest? The event is a charity fundraiser, with activities throughout the day helping to raise money for Tommy's Charity - a charity dedicated to saving babies' lives.
Dance Fest is being held at Barton Hall in Horndean Technology College on Saturday the 20th of January.
So what exactly can you expect? Dance Fest features 14 hours of workshops and masterclasses. Ceroc are well known for blending styles of dance in their dance classes. This isn't going to be a straight one-two step. The workshops and masterclasses are designed to be fun as well as informative. If you're really serious about improving your boogieing then there are also private lessons available. For those who are less interested in learning and more interested in just dancing, there will also be 8 hours of freestyle dancing.
Other entertainment during the day includes cabaret, competitions, and even a pub quiz. If you need a bit of time to relax you can head down to the relaxation lounge, but otherwise there will be places to grab a bite to eat and a licensed bar for when you need a drink.
There are three different ticket options available:
The afternoon session (11am-7pm) - $35
The evening session (6pm-Midnight) - $30
All day - $55
Tickets can be purchased online from the Ceroc website, by calling 07917 835000, or just by turning up on the day and buying your tickets at the door.
Barton Hall is within Horndean Technology College in Horndean. The college is about 30 miles from Southampton and about 10 miles for Portsmouth. The quickest way to get there from Southampton is along the M37 and then the A3.
