Cyprianis Mediterranean Bar & Grill

Nestled among the row of classic restaurants in Petts Wood is the newly sprung Mediterranean Bar and Grill - Cyprianis. I went there with my husband for a Sunday breakfast.
Cyprianis offers a very classy ambiance and well done interiors. The breakfast menu offers a wide and exotic selection to choose from. We began with a machiato and yes, it was perfect to the last drop. But I cannot the say the same for the person who took our orders - who was not only intimidating but was also rude.
We went for a classic Cyprianis and a Greek breakfast. Cyprianis classic consisted of 2 free range eggs, pancetta, bubble and squeak, sausage, beans and toast. While everything on the plate was exactly how it should be, what I did not understand was how it was different from a classic American breakfast. Cyprianis is a Mediterranean restaurant and a classic breakfast from them should be a showcase of some their best. At least that is the least I can expect for spending £8.95 and a 45 minute wait.
My husband had the Greek breakfast and I felt sorry for him. It consisted of grilled halloumi cheese, lukaniko (Cyprus sausage) free range eggs and grilled vine tomato. Halloumi cheese is salty by nature and it was accompanied by saltier lukaniko. I think it was made from scratch as all the other flavours were in balance. Again, not worthy of paying £8.95.
Although the waiter did get a lot friendlier was we progressed on with our meals, the whole experience was a total disappointment. There were other customers complaining about the waiting time as well and it definitely dampened the mood. But on the positive side, their presentation was impeccable and praise worthy.
Will I go there again? No- not for the breakfast. Yes- to give the other available menus a chance.
