Last chance to get on your bike and explore Lichfield
If you've managed to put off getting fit so far this summer then there is one final incentive to get off the sofa and do something about it before the days begin to get shorter and cooler. People are being invited to get on their bikes and sign up for the final Cycle Rides for All event of 2017 which have been taking place throughout the Lichfield area over the past few months. The last Cycle Rides for All event of the year, which have all been free to enter, will be held on Sunday 17 September with a ride from Lichfield to Fradley Junction.

So far the free group cycle rides have visited various destinations throughout Lichfield district, including routes to Fisherwick Lakes, Weeford and Packington Moor Farm, around Chasewater, and to the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas. The final Cycle Rides for All will involve a 12-mile round-trip ride to Fradley Junction. The ride is graded level two, which means it is suitable for all, although some beginners may struggle. Anyone wishing to join in the ride simply needs to bring themselves and their bike to Freedom Cycles, in Windsor Business Park, off Trent Valley Road in Lichfield, by 10am on Sunday 17 September. All bikes are given a quick safety check before setting off. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Wearing a safety helmet, appropriate clothes, and bringing a packed lunch and drink is recommended.

Paul Niven, cycle ride leader, said: "Going on a group cycle ride is a great way to enjoy a bike ride, without the pressure of finding your own way. We've had lots of people of all ages join us each month, and hope plenty of people will come along to our last ride of the season. Cycling is a great way to get round all year, and the aim of Cycle Rides for All is to get more people out on their bikes, and to show them some of the wonderful cycle paths we have across the district."
