A new music festival arrives in Wolverhampton for spring 2021.
Running from Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 May 2021 at West Park,
Creation Day promises two days "of exceptional live music."
Curated by Creation record supremo
Alan McGee - the man who famously discovered Oasis as well as signing such acts as Primal Scream, Super Furry Animals, My Bloody Valentine and Teenage Fan Club - the line-up includes some of the biggest 'indie' acts of the 1990s and '00s including 'Madchester' pioneers
Happy Mondays, former Brum residents
Editors, and Liverpool's New Wave heroes
Echo and The Bunnymen.

Cast (marking the 25th anniversary of their All Change album), as well as
Sleeper and
Echobelly - two of the biggest 'female-fronted' acts of the era (proving Britpop wasn't just about 'the lads').

The Wedding Present also appear, as does Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder's other band -
Black Grape - and
Friendly Fires, whose third album, 2019's Inflorescent, went Top 15 in the UK.
A cross-section of bands from McGee's current Creation 23 label will also take to the stage,
including Marquis Drive, The Illicits, Cat SFX and
Shambolics.

"I'm looking forward to this one, some of the best old bands with some of the best new bands," says McGee - whose lifestory has been turned into a film, Creation Stories, starring Trainspotting's Ewen Bremner as the record label boss.
"Creation Day is the first time we have done anything like this since doing it for the kids. Hopefully, we can do this every year."
