Christmas is coming which means the annual search for gorgeous gifts has to begin soon. A visit to the
Crafts For Christmas and
Hobbycrafts exhibition at Birmingham NEC between November 6 and 9 could help solve those tricky present problems.
The popular show offers a treasure trove of gifts and treats, from jewellery and board games to handcrafted toys and decorations.
Among the regular exhibitors is Jan Morris of Foxy Brushworks in Worcester. Jan will be showing her hand painted mirror creations at the show for the fifth year running.
A favourite with the ITV show
60 Minute Makeover, Jan's designs have also gone international with a feature on an American blog dedicated to the Best of Art Deco Design.
Jan says: "
It's always a joy to come to the NEC show. I love the chance to meet new customers and get feedback on my new designs. Having the opportunity to design a decorative mirror is something quite different for people these days. At the moment they particularly love my personalised patchwork border mirrors where I paint each square with something that is unique and special to them, or their family. I enjoy the challenge of taking commissions and creating something special and one of a kind".
Workshops and demonstrations will take place during each day of the Crafts For Christmas show with visitors invited to create handmade festive decorations.
Included in the Crafts for Christmas ticket is entry to Hobbycrafts which features free Make & Take sessions and talks and demonstrations by craft experts.
Ticketholders will also be able to attend Art Materials Live which runs alongside Crafts for Christmas and Hobbycrafts. The UK's biggest art materials show of its kind, Art Materials Live includes professional artists demonstrating their skills, free workshops and demonstrations and displays and works of art from some of Britain's best artists.
Christmas is also a time for some serious eating and drinking so the show boasts a welcome Festive Food and Drink aisle. An extensive array of luxury chocolates, gourmet nuts, fruity preserves, handmade chutneys, farmhouse cheeses and specialist wines and spirits will help deck the halls.
So be inspired and add some handmade festive cheer to your home this year.
