Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews will showcase her latest album during a UK tour that visits Hare & Hounds in Birmingham on March 8, 2023. The tour begins at Brudenell Social Club , Leeds, on March 1 and includes shows in Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, London and Brighton.



Her new LP, Loose Future, is the follow-up to the Grammy-nominated 2020 release, Old Flowers. The 32-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona, says that she initially approached Loose Future by aiming to write a song every day. She reveals that she felt “the sounds of summer” flowing through her writing, and gradually collected an album’s worth of material imbued with a sense of romance, possibility and freedom, something of a departure from the more traditional Americana sound of her earlier releases.

Courtney played in punk bands in high school before becoming a touring member of Jimmy Eat World at the age of 18. She went on to release a series of acclaimed albums, including Old Flowers, nominated as Best Americana Album in the GRAMMY Awards. Her breakthrough release was her fifth studio album, 2016’s Honest Life. This was followed by May Your Kindness Remain and Old Flowers.



Following a US tour supporting Wilco (which came about after Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy caught her set at the Black Deer Festival in the UK and invited her on stage to perform Wilco’s California Stars), Courtney played a series of intimate solo shows in the UK last year. She now returns with new material which has been acclaimed by the likes of Sir Elton John who said that Andrews “reminds me of a young Joni Mitchell” on his Apple Music 1 show, where Courtney was his featured guest.
