Birmingham is hosting the
2022 Commonwealth Games so the city's
Legoland Discovery Centre is celebrating by displaying a tribute to the women's England cricket team.
Women's cricket is making its debut at the games, with England's opening match against Sri Lanka taking place at Edgbaston Stadium on July 30. To mark the event Legoland builders have created a mini-Edgbaston, with a women's cricket match taking place, in the Discovery Centre's Miniland section.
The sporting fun doesn't stop there. A baton relay display is also on show, paying homage to the
Queen's Baton Relay that has taken place throughout the country in the lead up to the games. The site's mini figures can be seen passing the baton on the streets of Birmingham.
Michelle Thompson, Master Model Builder at Legoland Discovery Centre Birmingham, said: "%%Here in Birmingham, we are all so excited for the Commonwealth Games. It's such a huge event for our city and we wanted to celebrate in true Legoland Discovery Centre form – with bricks!

"
It's also amazing to see that they are celebrating women's cricket and including it in the games; we really wanted to honour the talented players that will be taking to the field during the event and can't wait to welcome visitors from all over the world to our attraction to see the builds for themselves."
