See Top Comics Paul Pirie, Desiree Burch And Joe Bromehead
A line-up of leading comedians from both sides of the 'pond' will be treading the boards at a Lichfield theatre this weekend. The Lichfield Garrick's Friday night Comedy 42 series aims to bring some of the best comedians from across the country and around the world to local audiences, and April's line-up is no exception.
New York stand-up Desiree Burch joins Lichfield line-up
American comedian Desiree Burch is set to open the show on Friday 15 April. Described as a larger than life New Yorker, Desiree won the Funny Women stage award for stand-up comedy in 2015 while, on screen, she has been featured on E4s World's Greatest Bodyshockers and NBC's Before the Morning After.
Joe Bromehead brings his talents to Comedy 42 show
Desiree will be followed by prop and stunt-based comedian, Joe Bromehead. Joe is a regular act for Jongleurs and has performed around the UK at many other comedy clubs including The Comedy Store and Glee clubs. It will then be the turn of the show's headline act, Paul Pirie.
Paul began his stand-up career after giving up acting, quickly establishing himself on the Scottish comedy circuit as long ago as 2004. Since then his career has encompassed TV, film and radio alongside his comedy stand-up career which has included a succession of sell out shows at The Glasgow Comedy Festival. He also joined comedy-improv group Dance Monkey Boy, Dance! which has developed and gone on to work under the BBC to develop regular radio shows.
The intimate Garrick studio theatre plays host to Comedy 42
Local comedian and Lichfield Garrick regular, Chris Purchase, will be keeping things in check while compering the show, which will be performed in the studio theatre. The Comedy 42 series, named after a line in the cult sci-fi classic show A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, continue on May 20. All shows start at 7.45pm with tickets costing £15, which can either be booked online or by calling the Box Office on 01543 412121.
