Coat and Badge Pub

This pub has plenty of striking features going for it - first of all, it is in the rather lovely area of Putney, situated right on the river Thames. Secondly, there's the cow - seemingly stood transfixed on the roof(!) of the pub (don't worry, it's not real). Should you look even closer, you will discover this pub isn't just a local's favourite in the area, but a beautiful pub more than prepared for all seasons.
So, let's have a look at the
Coat and Badge in Putney. Firstly, there's the lovely enclosed garden, no doubt lovely on those all-too-few hot summer days. Inside, the fireplace shows things are covered for when the weather takes a turn for the worst - so, so far, so good.

food and drink . There's plenty to get you excited here - with a decent cocktail list and lovely looking all day menu, featuring such delights as whole baked Camembert, and one of my favourites, the traditional Ploughmans.
The thing that really got me going though was the intriguing pudding wines list, consisting of both pudding wines and ports - definitely something I would be happy to work my way through.
There is a
healthy events programme at this establishment also, with everything from live bands and singers to the ever popular quiz.
With all of this to offer on top of a lovely looking, beautifully decorated boozer, unfortunately, it looks like this is something the locals can no longer keep to themselves - sorry locals. Oh yeah, as if there was nothing else left to recommend - this place is also conveniently close to the start of the Oxford v Cambridge boat race - now you know...
