Wind your way through rugged countryside, stomp across taxing terrain, and take in the beauty of the UK & Ireland as you reach the high peaks. Mountain climbing is a challenging experience, but when you get through it all, you feel like you have achieved something worthwhile. And you certainly will with these mountain challenges; every step you take will be a step further to supporting people with terminal cancer, and the money you raise could help Marie Curie Nurses provide the best possible care.

Brecon Beacons Horseshoe Mountain Challenge
16th March, Breacon Beacons Wales

In the Brecon Beacons National Park, you will climb the summits of Cribyn, Cornddu, and Pen-y-Fan, the highest peak in South Wales.

Slieve to Slieve Challenge
8th June, 9am-5pm, Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland, BT33 0AH

Starting from Slieve Donard Resort and Spa, you will enjoy a walk along Newcastle's beach, before taking on the highest mountain in Northern Ireland, Slieve Donard, which is 2,788ft.

Snowdon Mountain Challenge
9th June, 8am-6pm, Legacy Royal Victoria Hotel, Llanberis, Gwynedd, LL55 4TY

At 3,560 ft, Mount Snowdon in Wales has the most breathtaking views - although you might already be short of breath by this point.

Glencoe and the Devil's Staircase
22nd June, 7am, Glen Nevis Visitor Centre, Inverness-Shire, Scotland

A team of first class Mountain Guides will take you up the Devil's Staircase, through picturesque Kinlochleven and the Nevis Forest, ending the trek at the foot of Ben Nevis. You will need hiking equipment, which will be listed once you've registered.

Yorkshire Three Peaks Mountain Challenge
6th July, 6am-11.30pm, The Village Hall, Chapel Lane, Horton-in, Ribblesdale, BD24 0HA

A seriously demanding twenty-six trek, you will need real stamina for this one. You will take on three summits all in one challenging day:

Pen-y-Ghent - 2,277ft
Whernside - 2,415ft
Ingleborough - 2,375ft

Ben Nevis Mountain Challenge
14th September, 7.30am, Ben Nevis, Inverness-Shire,

Ben Nevis is the highest point of the British Isles, reaching 4406 feet. You will need climbing equipment, which will be listed after registering.

Scafell Pike Five Peak Challenge
21st September, 7am-6pm, Seathwaite Farm, Seathwaite, Borrowdale, Cumbria, CA12 5XJ

You will tackle will scale five of the Lake District's highest peaks in just one day, including Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England.

Mam Tor Peak District
5th October, 8am-5pm, Village Hall, Edale, Derbyshire, S33 7ZA

Standing 1,696 ft (571m) above the Hope and Edale valleys, the magnificent Iron Age settlement of Mam Tor is a famous landmark that offers a unique walking experience.

The ten mile circular hike will take you through the Hope and Edale valleys, where there was once an Iron Age settlement.

Dartmoor Mountain Challenge
13th October, 8am-8pm, Widecombe Village Hall, Widecombe In, The Moor, Devon, TQ13 7TA

Setting off from the picturesque village of Widecombe, you will make a thirteen mile journey through the moor and ancient woodlands.

Registration for these events are between 10-15 and require a minimum sponsorship of either 50 or 100.
