Commemorate Queen's 90th Birthday By Picking Litter
People in Lichfield are being urged to back a campaign that aims to get a million people out and about cleaning up their communities.

Clean for The Queen aims to give the country a major tidy-up ahead of Her Majesty the Queen's 90th birthday in April.

Anyone can take part in a Clean for The Queen event by registering" id="ccblink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">online. However, two clean-up events have been organised locally by Lichfield City Council which will take place on Saturday 5 March from 10am to 12 noon. The areas to be tackled include along Eastern Avenue and Tamworth Road, both in Lichfield city.

Beacon Park in Lichfield and The Depot in Burntwood, have packs of special edition 'Clean for The Queen' litter bag packs to give to anyone organising a clean-up event.

Simply register your event, which can be anytime in the lead up to the Queen's birthday in April, and collect your free bright purple litter bags from Beacon Park's Ranger Station or call in at reception at The Depot in Reliant, Way, Burntwood.

The council can also arrange to collect the bags of rubbish following the litter pick.

Councillor Andy Smith, Cabinet Member for Leisure & Parks at Lichfield City Council, said: "We're pleased to be involved in this national campaign and hope plenty of people will volunteer to help make Lichfield District look its very best for royalty!"
