An Utterly Tranquil Escape
Clarice House Day Spa is the perfect place to completely unwind and enjoy some first class pampering treatments. The spa is situated in an old Georgian house and is certainly an idyllic retreat in a beautiful parkland setting. Guests will even be able to watch rabbits and horses enjoying the peaceful grounds surrounding the spa.
The spa offers a wide range of indulgent packages suitable for everyone's pampering needs. The therapeutic and rejuvenating face & body treatments are carried out using Germaine de Capuccini products, which contain only the finest ingredients from the top European skin care house. Traditional and ritualistic massage treatments from around the world are also on offer as well as nail treatments, waxing, electrolysis, tinting and Universal Contour Wraps.
Throughout the year, the spa has many offers such as buy one get one free on mother's day and it is therefore advisable to check the website to see what deals there are before booking your treatments. You may also get a good deal if you are coming with a group of friends for a special occasion. I can strongly recommend "A Touch of Bliss" and the "Sheer Bliss Day", which are great packages to share with someone special. Unlike many other day spas, you will also have full use of the swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room and aromatherapy room. You will also have a delicious lunch, depending on what package you choose and will receive the Clarice House robe, slippers and towel hire for the day.
Arriving at the spa you are warmly welcomed and shown to the dining room, where you will then receive your robe and slippers for the day. You can wear your robe and slippers all day around the spa, including at lunch, so you can completely relax during your stay. You can even take your slippers home with you, but unfortunately have to return the robe.
Before you start your treatments you will be asked to pick your lunch for the afternoon in the award-winning restaurant. The food served here is divine and the presentation is at an extremely high standard. I can strongly recommend the antipasti for starter and the roast chicken or burger for the main course. If you have only booked one course as part of your package you can add another for only £2.50, depending on the dish. The chocolate fondant dessert or coffees on offer are also the perfect way to finish off your afternoon of pampering. On a summers day there is seating outside overlooking the countryside, where you can enjoy snacks or maybe even a glass of bubbly.
The staff at the spa are extremely welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you are completely happy and relaxed. Depending on how busy the spa is they are even happy to change appointments if you are late. It is however recommended that you arrive 30 minutes early before your first appointment so you can choose your lunch and settle in. Whilst receiving a treatment the beauty therapists are very friendly and are happy to make recommendations on skincare products suitable for your skin type before you leave. The treatment rooms are always well presented so that you instantly feel relaxed from when you first walk in.
The pool area is the ideal place to relax in between treatments. The poolside boasts a relaxation pool with bubbles and jets, hot Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and relaxation room. The facilities at the pool are very clean and the steam room, sauna and relaxation room even have warm lighting on the ceiling to add to the tranquility. If you do not wish to use the facilities before your treatments you can use the sun beds around the poolside to simply unwind and forget your troubles.
