I have had more than my share of stress lately, so my daughter booked me in at Sutton Coldfield for a Thalgo full body wrap. My first ever spa visit. It was divine.

The spa is very welcoming, all the staff are lovely, and you feel yourself relaxing as soon as you arrive – even before any treatments start. My daughter was offered a drink while I was in the treatment room. I was taken into the room by a female therapist, who explained exactly what treatment would involve – brushing of the skin, creams massaged in. The cream smelt amazing and I picked up on the lemongrass in the one cream. It was very calming and they wrap you in a massive plastic sheet, then a big towel, and then a body-covering blanket. And you're lying atop a warm bed, to allow the creams to sink in and allow your whole body to relax. The lights are lowered, and lovely calming music plays with piano and violins (I love violin music), and I could feel myself sinking into the warm bed. I nearly fell asleep!

It's definitely a brilliant way to wind down; I felt like I was made of rubber after my treatment and my skin felt silky soft, and smelt divine. My therapist recommended I drink water, afterwards, so I did. And then the barber made me a cup of tea (no charge), which included a lovely oaty biscuit, so even the biscuits are good for you (no chocolate or cream inside).

What a lovely place, I give then 10/10 for appearance, treatments, and friendliness, and I would recommend them to anyone.
