Award-winning folk legends Clannad to bow out after 50 years
Irish folk legends Clannad are to bow out in style after reaching the incredible milestone of 50 years of performing. Having sold an unbelievable 15 million records worldwide during their amazing career, and with eight Top 10 UK albums to their name, the multi-award-winning Clannad have just announced their 'In a Lifetime' The Farewell World Tour. The band started out in 1970, made up of siblings Ciaran, Pol and Moya Brennan and twin uncles Noel and Padraig Duggan. The current Grammy and BAFTA award-winning quartet will also mark their half-century by releasing a new Anthology 'In a Lifetime' deluxe set to be released worldwide on 13 March 2020 via BMG. But before then, tickets for the UK leg of their world tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday 13 September at 9am by visiting

Clannad to celebrate 50 years with world tour

Clannad, who are also past winners of the Billboard Music Award, will use their farewell world tour to celebrate their exceptional 50-year career which included huge hits such as Theme from Harry's Game and Robin (The Hooded Man). Fans across the UK will be able to see the band perform live for one last time, including a concert at Birmingham's Symphony Hall on 11 March 2020, as well as dates in other major cities such as Glasgow and Manchester, and a very special show at The London Palladium for St Patricks Day before concluding in Brighton on 23 March 2020. All in all, the world tour will last a year and a half incorporating continents and countries such as Europe, Australasia, North America, Japan, and South East Asia. To coincide with this very special live tour, BMG is releasing 'In a Lifetime' Anthology; a multi-format, career-spanning anthology containing tracks from Clannad's 50-year recording career. It will be available as a 38 track 2CD set, 2CD deluxe, 2LP, 2LP deluxe and an expanded deluxe 100 track set as well as digital versions.
