Ranging from Opera to Bollywood, Beethoven to John Williams and everything in between, the musicians of CBSO demonstrate their talent to the city in up to 130 concerts a year. Highlights of this year's calendar include all 5 of Mendelssohn's symphonies, Strauss' "Der Rosenkavalier" and Mozart's Mass in C Minor.
The Friday Night Classics Concerts are an all round family favourite, and this upcoming season will feature music from the movies (Friday 1st November 2013), classical arrangements of the songs of ABBA (Friday 24th January 2014) and and evening of music dedicated to Gershwin and Bernstein (Friday 4th July, 2014).
Concerts are offered for all age ranges, with special concerts for school children and families, including the Notelets series - interactive mini concerts for toddlers.
Not satisfied with being the resident orchestra of the Symphony Hall, the CBSO's Learning and Participation Team work in partnership with schools and communities to reach out to approximately 35,000 people across the West Midlands. The CBSO also includes an adult chorus, 3 youth choruses and a youth orchestra, with many members being recruited from across the region.
