In the dictionary, the term 'id' is defined as 'the part of the mind in which innate instinctive impulses and primary processes are manifest.' The key words I pick out there are 'instinctive' and 'impulses', and it is exactly that which I think defines Cirque Eloize's new touring show iD.
The Quebec-based troupe will land in London on the 1st October, and perform at the Peacock Theatre until the 19th October. iD is a unique blend of traditional circus acts infused with a youthful mix of music, theatre, and urban dance moves. The title of the show also refers to identity, and explores how we each express our own individuality. This is emphasised all the more by its city setting; a place where it is easy to get lost in the crowd.
Tickets to Cirque Eloize are between £15-£42, but under sixteens get in at half price.
