A variety show with talent, filth and a healthy dose of sass
Full to the brim with circus tricks, sexual spectacle, witty banter and toe tapping tunes.
Where no two shows are the same." On my visit there were two burlesque acts, a hula hoop twirler dressed as Elvis Presley (?), a troupe of 5 songstresses called 'Elle & the Pocket Belles' and a incredible circus stunt man. Not forgetting; the catty MC who held it all together.
I've seen my share of cabaret performances and I'd say it's hard to bring something unique and fresh to the crowds.
The Cirque du Cabaret performers were bold, beautiful and primarily out to have a good time which rippled infectiously throughout the delighted audience.
No act could be described as tame. They all shocked and amazed.
My favourite was the hula hooping Elvis. It was just so random and brought the crowd so much joy. His facial expressions made it, working those hoops like a pro!
Cirque du Cabaret is just one of the many shows at London's Wonderground, in association with the Southbank Centre.
Be sure to catch it; 19th July, 20th September or 28th September at 10.45pm.
