Forget the traditional Big Top! When the circus comes to the Staffordshire city of Lichfield next month it will be on the stage of the local theatre and not under a giant canvas. Circus Spectacular will be performed at the Lichfield Garrick theatre on February 26 but most of the usual ingredients that make up a fun-filled circus experience will still be there, including acrobats, jugglers and a clown. Circus Spectacular is being brought to the live stage by Shone Productions . Leading the cast is Bippo the Clown, who has been delighting audiences since Gareth 'Bippo' Ellis made his debut at the age of just nine years old. He has since appeared on TV shows such as Blue Peter, Dick and Dom in The Bungalow, Big Brother, The Sooty Show and even his own BBC3 documentary Send in the Clowns. Bippo is joined by his partner, Miss Chelsea, who started her own circus career at the age of 16. She specialises in various aspects of circus including, aerial cube, aerial silks, solo trapeze and roller skating!



Also on the Circus Spectacular bill is international juggler Alfio Macaggi from Spain. Alfio is a fourth-generation circus performer from one of Spain's most famous circus dynasties who began juggling at the age of six, before making his professional debut aged 11. Also joining the line-up is the Duo Salsky, comprising Thomas and Collette, who met while working on Chipperfields Circus in 1989. Since then, the duo has toured the world with their thrilling routines that include The Wheel of Death, Rolla Rolla and roller skating. Keeping it in the family Thomas and Collette's teenage sons Peter and Dommy, known as 'The Salvador Brothers', will take to the stage with their exciting acrobatic routines.



The circus show promises to thrill and entertain audiences of all ages. Producer James Shone said: "Circus Spectacular will be a massive hit with family audiences. The show is packed with great performers from all walks of life, who have worked hard to craft their skills and become the very best they can be, mixed with their showmanship and enthusiasm, you will certainly be entertained!"
