I am a medievalist in the process of completing a PhD (involving medieval medicine). I travel as much as possible at home (UK) and abroad. I'm always ready for new experiences!

The Florence Nightingale Museum, located at St Thomas' Hospital, celebrates the life of the world's most famous nurse through a diverse collection of medical instruments, historical objects, and unique artefacts from Nightingale's personal and professional life, such as childhood books, clothes, and nursing tools. The entire collection can be explored online at the official website.

Apart from Nightingale's personal effects, exhibitions are specifically oriented around the Crimean War and Victorian era medical practices. The museum is particularly kid-friendly, welcoming school groups nearly every day of the year, and this December all children will be admitted to the museum free of charge for the entire month.
Also happening at the museum on Monday 10th December at 6.00pm is a Carols by Candelight Christmas service in St. Thomas' Hospital Chapel. The service will be followed by mulled wine and mince pies. Tickets for the event cost £10 or £8 for members of the Florence Nightingale Museum. All proceeds support the museum.
