During winter most people's gardens aren't the prettiest of sights; all the colourful flowers have died off, and what's left is a boggy lawn. But at Kew, the gardens are beautiful all year round, and at Christmas, they are even magical.
Kew is opening up a new trail for 2014. From the 26th November - 3rd January, snowflakes will guide late night visitors down a winding one mile path. Illuminated fountains will create glowing waterside reflections, while the glasshouses and tree canopies are drenched in Christmas colour. There will be shimmering tunnels, light sculptures, mistletoe moments, and festive music inspired by The
Nutcracker.
Entry is between 5pm - 8.15pm (Kew is open until 10pm), with
tickets costing £15 for adults, £10 children, and free for under 4s. When you buy an evening ticket, you can also get day entry for £7.
The trail is not the only thing to enjoy at Kew. Santa Claus will be setting up his Snowflake Grotto, there'll be lots of fun rides, and a selection of Christmas treats, such as mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and toasted marshmallows.
