Bitterne Library are going to celebrating the tacky side of Christmas on December 15th with their Christmas Jumper Day event . Don your most festive Christmas sweater to participate in the day, and help a good cause while you're at it.

The event is part of a larger campaign - Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day . The idea is to find your most festive jumper, or DIY your own, and dress up to raise money. The tackier and funnier the better. Save the Children say they want to make it "the biggest, silliest day ever."

The library has a few other events for the day. You can come in and see if you can guess the song for the Christmas Carol-oke. Kids will also get the opportunity to participate in a teddy bear treasure hunt.

If you can't make it along to the event at Bitterne Library, you can always help out the good cause anyway. You can choose to organise your own Christmas Jumper Day with friends or at your workplace, or you can donate some money online. To participate in the day, Save the Children are just asking for a £2 donation but you are always able to donate more on their website. If you're participating you can also rally friends and family to help by making a donation of their own.

For more information about the Bitterne Library event you can get in touch by calling 023 8083 3007. The event runs on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th of December and the library is open from 10am-4pm.
