There will be no shortage of Christmas fun and benefits to look forward to in the Staffordshire town of Tamworth as the new festive season draws ever nearer. People of all ages will be able to enjoy extended shopping hours, concerts, Christmas lights, Santa visits and pantomime, to name just a few of the festive activities that Tamworth and the borough has to offer this Yule-tide season. And what better place to discover the various things to bring Christmas cheer and keep the children entertained over the next month than the Visit Tamworth website which is packed full of ideas and has a busy What's On section, as well as highlighting some of the fantastic attractions the area has to offer.

Explore Tamworth's rich heritage by joining the Santa Trails at medieval Tamworth Castle . As you hunt through the castle visitors will be greeted by the Victorian household readying themselves for the annual visit of the very special guest. Visitors will journey around the castle searching for Santa whilst joining in with a series of activities. Not to be outdone, Father Christmas will also be in residence at Tamworth's Ankerside Shopping Centre from November 25 to Christmas Eve on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays; and Elf School at the Stay & Play Kids Club on November 29. Tamworth Borough Council's festive season of Arts & Events also offers a variety of Christmas concerts, Christmas Lights and Tamworth Pantomime Company, who will return from December 13 to December 23, with their production of Dick Whittington.

The popular annual Christmas Lights Festival is planned for November 25, promising a packed day of festive fun for all the family. Activities will include fairground rides, a treasure hunt, crafts, live music, Christmas market, walkabout characters, dance performances and face painting. Christmas cheer will warm everyone's hearts on December 5 at St Editha's Church when Tamworth Assembly Rooms 'On Tour' presents Tamworth Voices, in aid of The Mayor's Charity. This will be followed by the return of The Mercian Singers on December 15 at Wilnecote Parish Hall, for an evening of seasonal festive songs. Santa's Winter Wonderland at Tamworth SnowDome returns on November 16 with real snow whatever the weather outside, plus real animals including reindeer. Other seasonal events can be found elsewhere in the vicinity, including a vintage Christmas Market at Middleton Hall on November 24 and 25, a Christmas fayre at Grangewood Garden Centre on December 15, and a Magical Christmas at Drayton Manor Park, opening on Saturday 17 November for selected dates up until December 31.

Bands, singers, pubs, clubs and organisations can advertise their events free of charge on the Visit Tamworth website which is responsive and regularly updated to include current news and visitor information. Follow the site on: www.visittamworth.co.uk or search Facebook: @VisitTamworth
