There are plenty of opportunities for kids to meet Santa face to face in the lead up to Christmas, but New Forest Activities may have come up with one of the most unusual ways. On Saturday 16th of December New Forest Activities will be holding their Christmas Canoe Paddle. It's an opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy a little bit of Christmas cheer at the same time.
Following a meet and greet with your canoeing instructors, the event starts with a 90 minute guided tour along the Beaulieu River. You'll get to enjoy the scenery and learn a little at the same time. After a bit of paddling, it's time to meet Santa. No, it doesn't happen on shore. Instead you'll paddle your way over to meet him on the water. To add to the excitement, each child will also receive a gift from Santa.
The kids might be looking forward to meeting Santa, but no doubt parents will be looking forward to the mulled wine, hot drinks, and mince pies that are available on arrival.
The Christmas Canoe Paddle is £22 for adults and £17 for children. Family tickets can be purchased for £68 and will admit two adults and two children. For more information head to the New Forest Activities website. Things kick off at 10am, but you should make sure you arrive 15-20 minutes early so you don't miss out on meeting your instructors or get left behind. Dress warmly, because it can get chilly out on the river in the middle of winter.
