Taking place until 30th December is a wonderful Christmas activity that the whole family can enjoy. Created by Raymond Gubbay and the National Trust this event has transformed the Altrincham landmark into a lit up extravaganza. The illuminated trail takes place daily after sunset, get set to walk around the gardens and see how beautiful this historical place is after dark. Dunham Massey is a historical Georgian house and garden and part of the National Trust. It is yet another stunning location in Manchester that allows visitors to get away from the busy city and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Dunham Massey has been turned into a wonderland, with lights forming a trail for you to follow. This winter event will allow visitors to see the park like never before. It is a chance to do something different over Christmas and is perfect for families as a fun, child-friendly activity over the school holidays.
For those who have never visited this wonderful location. Dunham Massey is a garden, ancient deer park and historical house. It is open throughout the year for many seasonal events. The Christmas trail is perfect for winter as it is something to do on the dark nights. You will follow a one-mile path through the woodland with lots of surprises along the way including giant baubles and music. After your festive walk, you can warm up with some hot drinks in the visitor's centre and stock up on last-minute presents in the shop.
Please note: You may want to bring a torch to help you navigate the path. Only guide dogs are permitted, other pets are not allowed on the trail. If you are driving you will need to book a parking space as there is limited availability.
