Pioneering musician Chris Cleverley is holding the official launch party for his new album at the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath, Birmingham, on November 20, 2022. It is a homecoming show for Chris – he grew up a stone's throw away from the Hare & Hounds and watched local giants like Misty's Big Adventure and Goodnight Lenin perform legendary shows at the venue.



His new album, Broadcast The Secret Verse, showcases a fresh sound, combining elements of Lo-Fi Folk, Ambient and Dream-Pop music. He is among a new wave of pioneering artists carving an uncharted path through the UK acoustic landscape and he has already gained endorsements from The Times, The Telegraph and BBC Radio. He has also received FATEA Magazine's 'Male Artist of the Year' award.

He says he wants to officially launch Broadcast The Secret Verse in the company of the loyal Birmingham fanbase who have been with him every step of the way throughout his decade-long career.



The show is part of a nine-date UK tour that kicks off at Hull's Wrecking Ball Arts Centre on November 8. Three of the gigs – in Birmingham, Totnes and London – will be with a full band featuring John Patrick Elliott (The Little Unsaid), John Parker (Nizlopi), Graham Coe (The Jellyman's Daughter) and Kathy Pilkinton (Said The Maiden).
Rising through the ranks of the Birmingham songwriting scene, Chris' previous three albums have brought him nationwide acclaim and his new material has already made waves. The singles Chlorophyll and Still Life have been championed by BBC national radio, and comparisons are being made with the likes of Sufjan Stevens , Phoebe Bridgers and Elliott Smith .
