Chop Chop is Birmingham's newest addition to China Town. The noodle bar sits directly opposite Oceana night club, and is sandwiched between Mr Egg and Omega Travel.

I met a friend there a couple of weeks ago who said she's found a new place to lunch that was only round the corner from the Bullring where she works. It doesn't look too fancy from the outside, and it's not up to much inside either, but the food speaks for itself.


The menu is a mix of familiar favourites (chow mein, Thai green curry, sweet and sour, black bean sauce), but also there specialities including 'szechuan', 'Bombay' and 'chilli spice' dishes.

Chop Chop offer excellent value for money - my friend ordered the lunch time special which includes a drink, rice (or noodles), salad, and meat for £3.95. The offer is available seven days a week between midday and 3pm. Served, in a traditional Chinese take-away box, you can enjoy a modern, yet authentic lunch in the city centre.

If you're stuck for lunch, and work near The Arcadian, or China Town, try Chop Chop. You won't be disappointed.
